The competition itself will be held on the 17th March.
The registration will be on competition.elsosor.hu. Once it is open I will let all of you know.
Last registration day is on 4th March, but if the entries will reach 300 we will close the page.
Beers can recieve from 4 March till 15 March. It can come on post with the label attached on the bottles, and the registration fee put in the pack. Labels printed from the program will only be accepted. One should send 3x0.5l or 5x0.33l simple bottle without any other labels or writing or gravings on the bottles. No other sizes are accepted. The cups must be also plain, without writings (you can black it with a pen).
Entry fees will be 2EUR for the first and 5EUR for the additional entries.
The judging will start on 15 March and the finishing day will be 17 March. The judging will be on the rules of BJCP using the BJCP 2015 guide for categories.
This year we will have more opened categories and will group the beers by the followings. Categories mentioned below will be accpeted only. The registration is only valid if the entries are categorised exactly as judges will do their jobs on the base of the named category. We are not taking any responsibility on bad categorizing and not willing to sort the beer by ourselves.
The categories for 2018 are:
I. Lager (2, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 4, 4A, 4B, 4C, 5, 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D)
II. Porter/Stout (9C, 13C, 20A, 15B, 15C, 16A, 16B, 16C, 16D, 20B, 20C)
III. Belgian (24, 24A, 24B, 24C, 25, 25A, 25B, 25C, 26, 26A, 26B, 26C, 26D)
IV. IPA (12C, 21A, 21B (Belgian, Black, Brown, Red, Rye, White), 22A)
V. Flavoured beers (FRUIT (29A, 29B, 29C), SPICED (30A, 30B, 30C), SMOKED (32A, 32B), WOOD (33A, 33B)
VI. Sour/Brett (23, 23A, 23B, 23C, 23D, 23E, 23F, 28, 28A, 28B, 28C)
+1 category: SMaSH (Single Malt and Single Hop)
Any BJCP2015 category possible, but it is necessary to give the exact subcategory and all necessary additional information. Furthermore the type of malt and the hop must be named as well. The aim of this category is to proof that brilliant beers can brewed with simple ingredients!
So the beers in the SMaSH category cannot have:
-more than on malt and hop in the recipe
-cannot contain fruit or spice or any other additives
Cannot go through any extraordinary handling like wooden maturing.
